The beginning

It took me a while to start this blog.  Honestly, it was an internal battle between doing it or not. I’ve always loved writing and the more I journal as…

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the RENEWING of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2

It took me a while to start this blog.

Honestly, it was an internal battle between doing it or not. I’ve always loved writing and the more I journal as an adult, the more I want to share my findings as I untangle my thoughts.  Being a young woman in her 30s comes with many hills and valleys, as I’m sure you know as well, no matter what age you are.  With every season comes a plethora of highs and lows, embarrassing stories, and many life lessons, leading to the renovation or rearranging of an individual’s day-to-day life.

But what stopped me from sharing for so long was not the sharing itself, rather the fear of others’ predetermined opinions about my intentions to share my thoughts publicly beyond the pages of my journal.  I am not naive enough to think all will agree with or enjoy my thoughts, or better yet, give them any attention at all.  However, I am aware that there is a stigma surrounding talking about yourself on a public platform that assumes promoting your thoughts is promoting oneself, as if the sharer believes themselves to be all-knowing. But this couldn’t be further from the truth.  I share my thoughts with the hopes that my continually RENEWED mindset might spark your own revival of thinking.

SO with that being said, my intention for the blog is to start a conversation, and specifically an honest conversation about our day to day thoughts with Christ at the center.  For so long, I trudged through the hills and valleys of life believing I had to pull myself up from my own boot straps.  Sure God was there, but he was more of a silenced GPS navigator being used as a backup plan if my shortcut didn’t end up working out.  With every wrong turn I made, I looked to my navigator, only to silence it again when the road looked more familiar.  But the more detours I made, the more exhausted I became.  The more exhausted I became, the closer to giving up I got.  Which brings us back to our honest conversation about having Christ at the center of our lives at all times.  A rearranging or RENEWAL if you will.  (We will go deeper in depth as to why the title for the blog on another post)

So as you read my strings of thoughts, my prayer is that it starts an open and honest conversation where you can also begin to RENEW and restore a freshness in your life that can only be found with Christ consistently at the center.

So lets begin, sweet friend.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the RENEWING of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2
